Expo 2025 Osaka will take place from 13 April to 13 October 2025 in Japan on the artificial island of Yumeshima, located on the waterfront west of Osaka.
Exactly 55 years after Expo 1970 in Osaka (Japan’s and Asia’s first Expo ever) and 20 years after Expo 2005, Expo 2025 Osaka will open its doors to the world.
The Expo organiser intends to bring the international community back to Japan and provide a space where the latest technology and innovations can contribute to achieving global Sustainability Development Goals.
True to the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”, this Expo’s mission is to encourage all humans on this planet to give deeper thought to how they choose to live and how each and every one of us can contribute to a better coexistence.
It is the mission of this Expo to animate the international community to help in shaping a sustainable society.
The theme of the Expo will be underscored by the three interrelated subthemes “Saving Lives”, “Empowering Lives” and “Connecting Lives”.
Alongside a subtheme, each country pavilion has also been assigned some of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) to address by presenting their ideas, approaches, and solutions towards achieving them.
