„Culture Connect“
At the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, the German Pavilion will inspire visitors with an outstanding cultural programme entitled „Culture Connect“. The programme promises to be full of authentic encounters that bring German culture to life in both charming and entertaining ways. Its aim is to create a living connection between tradition and modernity whilst enabling visitors to experience Germany’s diversity and creativity first hand. Special emphasis is placed on getting German cultural professionals in Japan and Japanese people with a connection to Germany to put together a resource-friendly live stage programme.

The cultural programme will be presented by the Culture Friends who embody well-known characters from German cultural folklore, literature and society. They will greet visitors in the queue, entertain and enchant young and old and be available for selfies. The waiting area in front of the pavilion will be transformed into an inviting “Friends Zone”, where these characters entice visitors to discover the diversity of German culture. Another big highlight will be the digital app that visitors can use on their smartphones that features fun and exciting interactions with the Culture Friends.

„Culture Connect“ offers a broad spectrum of topics in various formats that reflect German culture in all its facets: From myriad image and video impressions of German cities and landscapes to engaging talks with celebrities, plenty of interactive activities and live performances, every wish will be fulfilled. Classic culturally expressive themes such as music, tourism and dance merge with forms of artistic expression like design, literature, art, cuisine, sport as well as science.

VOSS + FISCHER GmbH won the tender put out by Koelnmesse on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action to run the German Pavilion’s cultural programme. Together with Mike P. Heisel, the agency organises the events on the Pavilion’s cultural stage.
